“Torture the data and it will confess to anything.”
~ Ronald Coase
As educators we spend the entire year collecting all sorts of valuable information about our students that inform and influence how we teach and reteach. Data smashing is the art of uncovering the hidden order in messy data. You can “data smash” to compare and contrast data, identify connections, and spot outliers. In this workshop, we will use Google Sheets to easily share and collaborate with your colleagues. Through a series of guided activities, we will introduce simple processes to gather and use the data to uncover the insights hidden below the surface. We will dig into the powerful data smashing tools available in Sheets to get instant insights and graphs using the Explore pane - as well as look at the use of AI to assist you to work smarter and faster.
