Digital visualisation tools to alleviate mathematics anxiety

The use of visualisation tools can make mathematical concepts more concrete and easier to understand for students. This can be especially helpful for students who have maths anxiety, as it can help them to visualise what they are learning and to see how the concepts apply to real-world problems. In this workshop, we will explore some online resources and simulations e.g. PhET Simulation, Mathigon, Visnos etc, that can be used to help you teach mathematics. These resources can provide you with interactive activities, tutorials, and simulations that can help students to learn mathematical concepts in a fun and engaging way.

Integrating Computational Thinking in Mathematics

In this workshop, you’ll explore different ways of integrating computational thinking into mathematics lessons, and to see how it can be used to solve problems. You’ll also explore some coding and robotics elements that can be used in the classroom.
